I told to my husband before to install security camera in our front and back yard to make sure we don’t experience any burglary incident again (like what we experienced when we’re on an apartment). We’ve been in our house for over 6 years and until now no security camera or even alarm system is installed. My husband said that we don’t have high priced items that we should guard, and another reason too is the area we lived is really good a community. So no worries for now. Okay, I agree with him..

My mom is telling me that we should make the roof trusses as steel instead of regular wood to make it stronger. I guess she watched home improvement channel that feature metal buildings. She has a point bringing it up on me. Although it cost higher on the construction cost.. it will be paid off in the long run. I’m saving to complete the construction of the house in Manila. Maybe two more years then construction can start. I need to finish paying the lot first then we can do full-blown construction. I’m excited. ;)

Below are the various type of roof trusses.. but these are in wood. I can’t find photo for the metal one.

We are saving for the floor upgrade in two or three years time. I’m thankful that our exterior shutters and other parts in the house doesn’t need upgrade anytime soon. Our carpet is ugly because of the stains. We tried to shampoo it but the stain always comes back. I hope that we can make this floor plan push thru. That will bring nice lift to the house and will make it easier to clean.

We want hardwood but we have not decided if everything will be hardwood or we will keep the bedrooms with carpet.

By the way you can see below, on the background why we desperately need to change our carpet.. too many stains!

Having kids around, made me more aware of the cleaning products we use at home. I only want natural spray disinfectant to be used around. With more people being conscious about environment and safety, finding natural and safe cleaning products are easy now. And one of my favorites is the water based cleaning spray. ;) It smells good and it does not scare me if kids will touch it. It also does wonders in cleaning the mess.

Just talking about cleaning.. spring cleaning is soon to happen in our house!

Almost all our neighbors have home security systems. I’m considering to get one too.. but hubby said we really have nothing to protect from burglars. lol So that save us $50 a month. We just don’t have extravagance property in our house. Maybe if we have some arts or collections that worth hundred of thousands or considered antique then it will be wise to get home alarm.

Just hitting the three O’s a month ago and now I’m starting to look at some anti aging product for myself. Like what they said it’s better to prevent one than to cure it. So I’m just looking for some preventive measure to help my aging skin.

And I’m glad I have a mom who can test the product for me first before I try it. hahahha Because she needs more prevention and curing at the same time. No, she is not mad at me when I do that. ;P

Just in time for our insurance renewal. Our home and auto insurance are bundled together. And I will only consider auto insurance quotes if it can include home insurance together. We get the maximum discount if these two are packaged. It reminds me to call our insurance agent tomorrow to inquire any special discount they have as a loyal customer for so many years. If none, then it’s really time to shop for new rate and coverage.

My son who turned 15 months 2 weeks ago can open all the doors in the house except the one with a round knob. This reminds me to put back all the safety products we have installed for my eldest before. His hand is not big enough to turn the knob yet but soon he can do it too. He can open the kitchen pantry, the sink cabinet in the kitchen and bathrooms, grandma’s medicine cabinet, and other drawer that he can reach. A 15-month old toddler can truly be a handful! This weekend will be the day to put these things back.

We do not buy filtered water for our drinking needs. What we have are filters connected to the sink and water connection of the refrigerator. The filter can remove chlorine and other chemicals from the water that city provides. We save money buy not buying expensive water or refill.  My husband only make sure that we replace our filters regularly.. and this remind me that gswf for the refrigerator filter needs to replace. It can save you money and the environment can benefit from accumulating less water bottles.

Have you seen these Price Pfister faucets? They are lovely to replace our current faucet. These faucets meet every home standard of elegant style & modern functionality. The price is very reasonable too among other competitive products. No wonder why most of the model homes I’ve seen have this kind of faucets. I will try to look at the local home improvement store if they carry this brand.
